About us

Based in Alcala, Tenerife, Escondida Lounge Bar first opened its doors in 1995, and due to its privileged location close to the sea, primarily focused as a Restaurant serving fish and seafood caught by the local fishermen in the area.

As the years went by and based on possibilities available to us due to our location, we decided to be innovative by trying to create a new image in keeping with our philosophy and also offering customized attention to our customers, whatever age group and whichever part of world they came from, knowing that they had found a place in which to feel comfortable and without protocol, and at the same time be able to combine food and drink, or just a drink, with a pleasant moment of relaxation against views to the sea and spectacular sunsets.

For this we wanted to create two different atmospheres, separate from each other but also integrated, one clearly defined like a Restaurant and the other like a Lounge Bar, where Chill-Out music is combined with the sound of the Sea.

Currículum :

Escondida Lounge Bar in Alcala, Tenerife, is currently managed by two brothers who are also the proprietors, and professionals of the hotel trade, being educated at recognized Colleges all over the world, with a love of nature, adventure and endlessness travellers. Aitor and Gorka, look after their guests with their creative and traditional kitchen with ideas gained from some countries where they have lived and worked. All the ideas for the restoration and decoration of the restaurant were conceived and realised completely by themselves, contributing and shaping details of the different places from the world. “Escondida” is born of tranquillity and user-friendliness from every corner, reflecting a spirit of “equality between cultures and the respect to the environment and nature” as its main motto.

Escondida Restaurante

Like a conventional restaurant, our areas are adapted for lunch and dinner, with direct views to the Sea and the natural bay from the table. Our aim to our guests is to offer them a range of elaborated gastronomic varieties with locally selected products with quality guaranteed.

Escondida Lounge – Bar

Integrated in the same enclosure, we have an ample renewed and redecorated area to the main one, in which we have taken care of each detail so that a coffee, mojito, or any other drink becomes something more than a simple glass, so that you and your friends find a place where you are able to talk in a comfortable seating area with a view to the Sea.

Escondida lounge bar offers you the possibility to privately reserve its premises for special events like Cocktail evenings, Art exhibitions, Meetings and Conventions etc., solely for your guests and with specific requirements catered for your event.
